about

Welcome to the online home of the Pedal Republik of Cleveland, Cleveland's most exclusive (read: only) hardcourt bike polo organization!

The Pedal Republik is a very diverse group, ranging in age from teenagers to 40-somethings, with varying professions and interests. We encourage anyone with a bike to come down and play, there will always be extra mallets for you to borrow.

We play at the Gordon Park tennis courts off of RT2 (take the 72nd ST EXIT) on Sundays at Noon. Click here for a link to the map. When the days get longer we also play on Thursdays around 5:30. When we play we'll most likely post it on our facebook page, but if you start coming you'll be put on our call/text list.

Our organization has teams that compete all around the country, but most of our members typically play for fun/exercise/something to do outdoors.

We welcome anyone from all walks of life, so when you have a few hours free on a Sunday come check us out!

WHOA! It's been a while, and a lot has changed

We now reside at Gordon Park, a little more east of the city. Click on "location" below to have access to the google map to get you there.

We still play Sundays, and Thursdays now that the time has changed. This weekend we'll be hanging out and BBQing/partying for St Patty's day. Make us one of your stops to come hang out or try out bike polo. We're always welcome to people just stopping by and saying hi too.

Hope to see you soon!

Haven't heard from us in a while, huh? Well, we've been busy (sort of).

Some us are heading to Pittsburgh this weekend to hang out at their annual throw-in tournament. Should be a lot of fun, the PGH polo players are our homeboys.

We'll be hosting a fundraiser to benefit the organization at Johnny Mango's in Ohio City on July 25th. Please join us that evening. 20% of your bill will go towards the club, but you have to bring in a flyer, which you can print off here.

The Teeter Totter Kidz had a decent showing at the Louisville tournament, coming in 5th overall. They almost beat Milwaukee, home of the 2010 World Champions, with a score of 4-5. Regardless, it was a fun and successful polo weekend. We'd like to thank Elton in Dayton and Jimmy in Louisville for letting us crash and drink their beers/eat their food. Bike polo people in other cities rule.

The Pedal Republik will be having a bike polo showcase at the Pedal for Prizes event in Old Brooklyn. We'll have some extra mallets for those who would like to participate, and you'll have to attempt a goal to get an extra stamp!

KJ, Bob, and Dustin will be traveling to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the Derby Debauchery Weekend Polo Tournament this weekend. They hope to take home the gold on this one, the Teeter Totter Kidz have been playing well together the past few weeks. Also they'll be sure to sample some of the finest bourbon Kentucky has to offer as well as blow some money on horses.

In addition, Cleveland will be sending at least one full team (Lou, Bob, and Guy - name TBD) to the Midwest 2011 Championships on May 21st. Good luck to all our Cleveland participants on that one, there's a chance a few more will be going down on mixed-city teams.

Planning is in early stages for a tournament in Cleveland during labor day weekend during the Air Show. We have an amazing view right across the highway from Burke Lakefront Airport, so each year we usually capitalize on that and have a BBQ. Last year we invited Pittsburgh over, and this year we're looking to open it up to all cities.
